Isabelle Thelen

Bio
Isabelle received her Ph.D. in Political Science from Baylor University in August 2026. Her research focused on ancient and medieval political thought, particularly Augustinian political thought, with interests in the relationship between politics and religion, the role of mercy in political life, and the family as a political institution.
Prior to attending Baylor, Isabelle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy from Michigan State University's James Madison College.
Isabelle is currently Lecturer I in Political Science in the Department of Social Science and Humanities within the College of Arts, Sciences and Education at the University of Michigan-Flint.
