Maria Goyette

Bio
Maria received her Ph.D. in Political Science from Baylor University in August 2026. Her research focused on political theory and American politics, with particular interests in ancient, early modern, and American political thought. Her dissertation examined Aristotle's concept of thumos and explored questions of moral virtue, love, friendship, and education.
During her time at Baylor, Maria taught courses on political philosophy and the American Constitution. She also served as a predoctoral fellow at Cleveland State University's Center for Civics, Culture, and Society, where she led seminars on American politics.
Maria is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Cornerstone Institute for Civic Thought in Purdue University's Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts Program.
