Jonah McCoy joined the Political Science Department at Baylor University in the fall of 2026. His research interests primarily center around early to late modern state theories, particularly theories of sovereignty and how they relate to the execution and realization of concrete order across different national environments. He has expertise in working with the thinking of monarchical and conservative theorists such as Thomas Hobbes, Jean Bodin, Joseph De Maistre, Juan Donoso Cortés, Friedrich Julius Stahl, and Carl Schmitt.
