Bio

Emma received her PhD in August 2026. Her dissertation, “A Friendly Critique of Socrates: Xenophon on Ambition, Leadership, and Erotic Desire,” examines the relationship between Socratic political philosophy and political practice.

 At Baylor, Emma received a recognition for excellence in teaching for her course on the US Constitution, and was a Summer Dissertation Fellow. 

She is currently a Franklin Postdoctoral Fellow at Emory University where she is working on a book project based on her dissertation, and teaching political theory.
