Elvis Williams

Elvis joined the Political Science Department at Baylor University in the fall of 2026. Elvis earned his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from California State University San Marcos, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was awarded the Outstanding Student of Political Science Award by his department. Elvis was later admitted to Florida State University's Political Science PhD program, where he gained a strong foundation in quantitative research methods and worked as a research assistant for Professor David Foster. As a research assistant, Elvis constructed a comprehensive dataset of executive orders, proclamations, and memoranda, along with their legal citations, spanning from the administrations of President Clinton through President Biden. He then transferred to Baylor to pursue research in American Political Development and American Political Thought. 

Elvis plans to research the American Executive Branch, especially insofar as its use of unilateral presidential directives relates to interest group politics and the dynamics of political coalitions over time.
