Dr. Kudelia gave a public lecture on Russo-Ukrainian war at the University of Oslo
Political Science Professor Sergiy Kudelia gave a public talk under the title “Revisiting 2014: What the Outbreak of Russo-Ukrainian War Reveals about Its Causes” to an audience of academics, students, and community members at the University of Oslo on August 21.
In his presentation, Dr. Kudelia drew on the field research for his book Seize the City, Undo the State: The Inception of Russia’s War on Ukraine (Oxford, UK: University of Oxford Press) to explain Russia’s objectives in its ongoing war against Ukraine and the methods it used at various stages of its armed aggression starting in spring 2014.
He also discussed the lessons of the Minsk process (2014 – 2022) for the renewed attempts by the United States to negotiate a settlement between Russia and Ukraine.
The talk was moderated by the University of Oslo Professor Geir Flikke and was followed by the Q&A with the audience.
Dr. Kudelia’s lecture was organized by the Norwegian Network for Research on Ukraine, which includes scholars from the Norwegian universities and research centers studying Ukrainian politics and society.
