Dr. Ward participates in a conference on “Free Societies in Crisis.” 

Baylor University Political Science Professor Lee Ward was an invited participant in a conference entitled “Free Societies in Crisis: Perspectives in Classical Liberal Thought and Political Economy.” 

The conference was sponsored and hosted by The Center for the Study of Government and the Individual at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs October 3-4, 2024. 

Over the course of the two-day colloquium eighteen political scientists, historians, and economists at leading universities from across the United States, including 2002 Nobel Prize in Economics winner Vernon Smith, discussed the writings of Adam Smith, Karl Polanyi, Friedrich Hayek and Daron Acemoglu, and their relevance for understanding the political and economic challenges confronting liberal democratic states today.
